US Army Corp of Engineers
The US Army Corps of Engineers defines their mission as (to) "Provide vital public engineering services in peace and war to strengthen our Nation's security, energize the economy, and reduce risks from disasters." The Army Corps maintains authority over the infrastructure of levees and dikes on the Columbia River and its tributaries.
With BPA, USACE also shares a mandate to fund and facilitate habitat monitoring and restoration projects. CREST coordinates with USACE's restoration division to conduct technical reviews, and to gain approval for changes to flood control. |
