Jess Hoch, Habitat Restoration Project Manager
Jess joined the Habitat Restoration team as a Project Manager in 2023. She brings a background in plant community ecology, plant-soil interactions, and GIS. Much of her professional experience centers on multi-stakeholder restoration planning and on ecosystem monitoring to inform adaptive management of ongoing restoration projects. In her new role, she looks forward to managing all stages of a restoration project, from ideation to implementation. Jess is excited to work alongside CREST staff and partners to undertake restoration efforts for the benefit of healthy ecosystems and communities in the Columbia River Estuary.
Before joining CREST, Jess conducted forest and wetland assessments in New York City and managed an internship program for local college students interested in ecology and environmental science. Jess earned her bachelor's degree in geography from McGill University and her master’s in ecology from Columbia University.
