Harlow Creek
Location: The Harlow Creek project area is located near Columbia River Mile (RM) 29 within the Columbia River Estuary (CRE) in Wahkiakum County, Washington.
In the summer of 2020, the restoration project was completed. The project restored hydrologic connectivity to nearly 10 acres of wetland habitat formerly isolated by two private logging roads. Additionally, the project strategically breached the logging road in three locations, creating one entirely new opening for fish, and removing two undersized and perched fish barrier culverts replacing one with a new channel-spanning bridge and entirely removing and decommissioning a section of road where the second culvert was located. The removal of the fish barriers restored access to nearly 2 miles of quality spawning habitat for salmon.
