Ruby Lake Restoration
The Ruby Lake restoration project reconnected 122 acres of tidal emergent wetlands back to Cunningham Slough and the Lower Columbia River. Completed in summer 2013, the project has restored tidal processes, expanded fish access, and increased wetland plant diversity.
A large water control structure was removed and approximately 10 acres of marshplain was lowered to benefit native emergent wetland plant communities. The site was replanted with tens of thousands of riparian plants.
